Toy Safety

For years, MIT International Testing has been following the toys sector with particular attention, providing a wide range of services, essential for meeting the needs of EU regulations.

Despite the numerous efforts of European legislation, on 13th February 2018 the European Chemical Agency (ECHA) published a report that shows that 20% of toys in Europe contain harmful and prohibited substances by the European Community.

The ECHA, created in 2006, has the purpose of monitoring the activities in order to be compliant with the Reach Regulation, the community legislation that has been created to project human health and the environment due to the use of specific chemicals. For this reason it is good to stay up to date on the subject, both consumers but also toys manufacturers.
